In this episode we say goodbye "DME" and Hello Equipment Requirements Notes. We are joined by Rick Felty, Tom Frick, Russ Roslewski, and Bill English to discuss this fairly technical aspect of a change coming to aviation.
The FAA instrument approach charts are getting a minor makeover starting on May 24, 2018, with notes such as “DME Required” and “ADF or RADAR Required” moving to a new location on the chart. In addition, they are going to be more descriptive as to where and how the notes apply. Some notes will change on RNAV approaches as well, with new terms being used.
